On the occasion of the Day of the City of Opatija, on July 20th, 2023, we held a creative workshop “Opatijske Lumbrelice” in the children’s park Bulgaria!
Our little ones painted “Opatijske lumbrelice” with motifs of Opatija landmarks, they learned how the Opatija agave came to our region, when and how the children’s garden was created.
As part of the excursion program “Get to know our region” we went to Učka with our little ones!
We visited the Poklon Visitor Center where, through interactive content, we learned more about life on Učka, the plant and animal species that adorn our region, how caves and pits are formed, why Učka is protected as a nature park and much more!
In cooperation with the Opatija Mountaineering Association, we also visited the Poklon mountain lodge, where we were welcomed by the head of the janitorial section, Jelena Eškinja. We learned how we can become little mountaineers, why hiking and spending time in nature is important, and what to take with us when we stay in the forest. We also walked through the forest on hiking trails, learned what markings are, how to make a compass using plants and water, how to orient yourself using plants in nature.
The young musician and rapper of the group “Reinkarnacija” Pino Kovačević visited us and surprised our little ones with a donation of a super package of Chupachus: puffs, goals and sweets will brighten up these warm sea days!
We played moving, imitative and musical games. They learned to express themselves through music and drawings. We went to visit the nearby playgrounds. Every day we started our mornings with kinesiology activities and healthy breakfasts. We held art-creative, musical, kinesiology, culinary, STEM, tolerance and friendship workshops and much more, of course with swimming and fun!
