The “Hummingbirds+” project is implemented with the support of the County of Primorsko-goranska.
The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life of children with developmental disabilities and their families and to help them integrate into the local community by creating a new atmosphere, encouraging new processes for the quality reception of children with disabilities and their integration into regular life in cities and municipalities (Opatija, Lovran, Mošćenička Draga, Matulji, Kastav, Viškovo, Rijeka).
The activities included in the program are: Corner of our Hummingbirds(creative and creative activities and contents intended for children with developmental disabilities), group workshops for brothers and sisters of children with developmental disabilities “Together we can do everything”, “You and I are friends, we are all friends !”- joint activities of children with developmental disabilities included in the “Hummingbirds+” program and councilors of the Children’s City Council of the City of Opatija, individual work of pedagogues and psychologists with children, group workshops to encourage sensory integration, promoting the works/achievements of children with developmental disabilities in the wider to the local community and Parent’s Box – parent empowerment workshops. The activities foreseen in the program are carried out by the expert team of the Society “Our children” Opatija with external professional collaborators.
