On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, our volunteers Veronika and Dubravka received two great awards!
Our Veronika is a member of the 14th convocation of the Children’s City Council of the City of Opatija and has been volunteering every week for three years in a row at our workshop/playroom for development support for children with disabilities “Hummingbirds”, which has 70 participants. Veronika participates in art, music, storytelling and sensory activities with our little ones.
Today, for her work, effort and dedication, she was awarded the award for “Little volunteer potential” awarded by the City of Opatija, the City Society of the Red Cross of Opatija, and the associations Kulturni Front and Žmergo, under the auspices of the County of Primorsko-Goranska.
Our Dubravka is a teacher of mechanical subjects at the School of Mechanical Engineering and has been teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry every Monday for several years in a row with the participants of the “Help in Learning-Studying buddy” activity.
For her dedication, love and commitment in working with children who need support in mastering school material and finding innovative learning techniques through practice, today she received the Commendation of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the City of Rijeka and the Association for the Development of Civil Society SMART.
