The program of workshops with parents “Growing up together” was created within the project for support of parenting in the community under the auspices of the Program for Early Childhood Development and Stimulating Parenting “The first 3 are the most important!” UNICEF Office in Croatia. The development of the program was also supported by the Agency for Education of the Republic of Croatia, Department of Preschool Education. Workshops “Growing together” for the Society “Our Children” are coordinated by the Union of Societies “Our Children” in Croatia.
The main goal of the program is to create a stimulating and empowering environment in which parents with workshop mentors and other parents: exchange ideas about how they live their parenting, get to know themselves better as a parent, recognize ways to treat their child, and learn about others. possible ways of treating the child.
Parents are introduced to scientific views on the developmentally stimulating interaction between parents and children, as well as on parenting for the benefit of the child and parents.
The program of workshops with parents “Growing up together” consists of eleven two-hour conceptually and thematically related workshops conducted by specially trained teams of experts to support early child development.
8-12 parents participate in the workshops, and different forms of work are used, depending on the goal and content of each activity. Short lectures with PPT presentations, exercises and work on different tasks alternate with a conversation on a particular topic and exchange of experiences in small or large groups. Each workshop is “spiced” with some games and / or short films.
